Anamnesis. The origins of this word are rooted in platonic philosophy and have the greek meaning of "a calling of the mind". The intentions of this conceptual graphic piece highlight the balance of time and space between worlds and people.

This book utilized contrasting texts and natural light to demonstrate a profound connection between letters on a page and how one's words demonstrate emotions. The first text is fragments of a letter that my father [who is Turkish] wrote to my mother over the months that he was waiting to save up enough money to fly to Canada. The second text is from the novel The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August  and takes a more grandiose view to creation and our importance on earth. I use these texts to tell one whole story as well as celebrate the difference between them.
