Lights Off is an experimental 3 dimensional puzzle that explores form and structure. The puzzle is built up of 4 identical parts that interlock to create a cube. Only after the puzzle has been solved, it can be places on top of a light box and capped with a lid displaying several geothermal scans of light polluted regions. The goal of this project is educate the players about what light pollution looks like illuminated and to illustrate these illuminations across the landscape. After completely the puzzle, agency is given back the user to decide whether or not to use the light as a contribution to a problem or deconstruct the game and rebuild it into a different sculpture.
